Mine was originally side steer. Weighed 590 with gauges, shifter, steering and tank. The pad is 1 inch wider than an xb2002.

That boat has a bunch of tricks that you can't see in those pictures.....
126 mph, SIDE water pickups and 250ish hp. That is to this day impressive!

Ya thats what I thought also very interesting. Its great to see how light they made it. Now if they could get it to spin between 6 and 7000 rpm at least. My guess is lighter more powerful engine options with higher rpm are right around the corner. The technology is there we just need someone to mass produce it. As long as gas keeps getting more expensive it will happen sooner than later.

I looked at this motor briefly yesterday. Its an awesome piece. I talked to Wayne and he estimates the motor to be around 500 lbs. Its a 6150 rpm motor and it was making 380hp at 6000.
I like the HP it is making, do you know what kind of torque #s it makes?

I do not know. But I would guess it being a typical Yamaha and have a very flat torque curve after reaching peak. I will call next week and see if I can find out.

Very cool! Very nice fleet of boats. Isn't there an XB 20003/250xs in there somewhere?

On the 132mph/129mph XR of Glen Reynolds the 2.4lt motor was offset to one side to counter the props rotational pull. Thats a neat {trick} also. That hulls been 135 unofficially. Pretty sure for the average of 129 that day for the record, 132 was the fastest pass that day.

So really it wont surprise me much if another XR with a 200XS can get 120+ since a 2.4 Bridgeport did it before.:big grin http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=3569752&server=vimeo.com &show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portr ait=0&color=&fullscreen=1
