Hears a pic of the guy Greg I talked to,s GS. He boated near me who had a 300PM on his GS. It did 112 and 110 with 4 on board. He said he would never do 112 by him self. The boat handled WAY better with weight he said. Theres a thread were he chimes in on hear and talked a little about his setup. He ran wedges and was like 4 inches back? His favorite prop was a 28 and a 34 Drag4 performance prop stock. You can see his skeg with the cut he had done to her.

I thought you were talking 300XS also BTW. PM makes way more sence dollar wise to set up. The 3.2 300XS can be made the same wieght with about 20 grand worth of mods. Lots of stuff like steering, midsection and Grearcase from a 280. Theres a few done with Dimonds help out there with 15inchers. Marios is the best one yet still I think at fish and ski. Right around 450lbs 3.2 300XS 15mid Ratcheting..

A 300 PM (non "X") barely made 300hp. Seems like a huge speed bump from what most have reported to get with a 280 on a Grandsport. Plus it weighs more. I realize other things play into account (more torque, gear ratio's etc.)

Not saying it didn't happen, but it seems the 280 guys are leaving some stuff on the table

Thanks BA.

That is the one and only picture I have seen of the 300PM/XB2002. I have read 110mph as well.

OK, the non racheting gearcase sucks. But whats the difference between slowing down from 90+ in an 02, an 03 or a 21 footer? myself(xb21/300xs) and badbait(2003/250xs) have had the gearcase lock up at 90+ and not go around. Setback is the killer. One of the Left coasters runs a 300xs on a very small tunnel. works great. Anybody who has been to the CA delta can attest to that. Keep it close, and you will be fine.
300xs on a tunnel is a way different story, not even close to the same deal. If you both had lock ups at 90+ there was either Grace from God, or a set up regarding set back and pad lip work going on to take the funkiness out of what usually happens. Not saying I do not believe you, just is not normal results for a pure stock set up. Good luck

Mine- pure stock. Locked up and went perfectly straight. Bills-3" setback and about a .020 lip. I believe he was running next to someone. The tunnel is just an example of the weight not being that big an issue with limited setback. I have no reason to tell stories. BTW, how's that new prop coming?

that was brad wear's old boat and i personaly know it ran 11 with 2-people in it,but it wasnt completly stock,
my promax is stock exepct for the svs, took her out this past weekend and was all over the limiter with a 28 et, so im geeting a 32 et and will see how that does, but with the et, 3 batteris,101 minn kota me and my fishing partner fully tour load, and again a 28 all ove the limiter we ran 96. only ran 93 the day before with the same prop without trolling and partner. so it goes to show how badd she's hitting the limiter.

Ok, for some reason I was thinking you were putting the opti on it. They list the 300PM at 480 lbs compared to the 505 for the XS. Being a little lighter should help out some..

That 3hunnert is going to look like a beast on the '02

You won't like it . Engine is to heavy on the back of a skinny 2002. It does not handle right. I have a 91 that I use to test engines on and have tried it with a Somon Motorsports 335 hp 3.1 with a Wayne Taylor 15 "mid. and it was a lot better handling than a stock 300. With a 300xs or a 250 xs it is way to heavy on *** end.

Ya'll need to slow that chit down before somebody gets injured and have to hear that I told you so from Momma, an *** busting and an *** chewing might tend to take the fun out of pleasure boating, just saying?
