Is a 200 XS SS the same as an ROS? Bruce send the sire this way, I have a couple of Allison mares that need bred if results are guaranteed.

Mercury is missing the market on that motor. Ridiculous that motor is not available for around $14,000.
It befuddles me....

a 1-2 year warranty at least should go along with it as well.

I think this 200xs SS is the older version and not the ROS.

200 ROX SST gets speedmaster 15 offshore mid and 800 rpms limiter

They made the 200xs before the ROS came out a few years ago. They quit making the gen1 after 2006. Then they reintroduced them a few years back as the gen2 ROS and SST "with components from the 2.5xs(2005) and the 175 Proxs.

The gen1 200xs had a 1.87 gear ratio and it was avaialble in both 20" shaft and 15" SS as well as offered with a Torquemaster or Sportmaster. Left and right rotation was also available

Gen 1 had both bro...15" AND 20". They also had the option of a Torquemaster on the 20" mids. They had left hand and right hand rotation and the different gears than the ROS.

Yes, the ROS/SST (Gen 2) is reported to be stronger than the Gen1.

Your link is for the Gen 2, I am not disputing those at all.

only available for "race applications" through mercury racing dealers. I called merc racing over the winter and they said they build them once a year. The orders and deposits have to be placed late fall and you will receive your motor sometime in the spring. They are built to order. Dealers cant stock them per se.

Yeah good question. The Gen 2's are built in "batches" for competitors only.

I think people are holding on to their Gen 1 200xs's now. Even when they were being built, they got overshadowed by the bigger HP 2.5L HP motors so I am not sure there were that many out there. The SS's were even more rare. Bruce got him a sweet, EFFECIENT performance basser.

Yeah I don't know much about the Gen I as they were "pre-Allison" in my watersports life.

Definatly sweet. If it is a Gen 2 as it appears it would be the first Gen 2 I have seen for sale in the last 2 years I have been lusting after them.... I think do to the mods I have a gen I would be going backwards in power, a Gen 2 seems perfect.

I could have gotten you one last October if you are serious about getting one I can make a call and see if they have one or two left over $ 16500-17000

Michael I was hot for one to go on this 2008 XB2002. I thought that combination would be outstanding. If I was keeping it that's the way I would go. Probably selling and with that motor it gets the rig up in the $36k-$37K range. Market is pretty narrow there.
