if you thought you might have problem, just call the factory. they can send you the sticker that says 250 on it. i know because when i insured mine, the agent wanted to see a pic of the rating sticker. since i was at work i called nancy and she sent me a pic of one, and asked if i would rather have a 250 rating sticker.

I would prefer a MAX 250 stick rather than the recommendation one for sure.. my insurance man will be much happier as well

I just contacted the factory and they do not have a max 250 sticker, it has a no rating, with recommendation of 175-200 or the Max 225 sticker...

Get the no rating sticker. Mine has a recommended 175-200 for efficiency sticker.

I would get the 21/250 with 1.75 gears, especially with poles and 36v troller.

My insurance (State Farm) never ask to see the rating plate. All they ask for was the HIN#, Trailer VIN#, and Engine Horsepower.

I have never had an insurance company asked to see the rating plate, either. I have, however, had several ask if the boat is capable of more than 90 mph. There are several insurance companies that state they will not insure a boat capable of more than 90 mph.

When I was getting quotes for my XB21 I had a few companies just flat out say NO.....I went back to State Farm and they didn't ask a question.

i wont use state farm for other reasons..my agent did ask how fast my previous boat was and did ask if it ran over 90, i dont think the pro with power poles will be over 90..if it is i wont tell them..

You wont have a problem in a BASS tournament with a 250 because their rules say US Coast Guard rating which because your boat is over 20 ft there isn't one. FLW on the other hand says there must be a max rating stated on the placard. When they see recommended hp that's what they use.
