I went in from ten to eight. Boat handles better, especially in windy conditions. My hull is light and I believe the extra two inches let the motor stay planted but left the bow too light. The way it was any side wind would upset the hull, making it want to fall off to one side or the other. Now with the engine closer in the whole thing feels more like one unit.
