Removable Foot Control Trolling Motor

I couldn't figure out where to put this, but you guys that have removable trolling motors, how do you handle the issue of the foot control? I leave mine unattached so it's easy to remove the whole shooting match to go play, but I hate having it move around on me while fishing. I need something like Dzus Fasteners or something that I can just unpin and pull, but I don't want anything to stick up through the deck when it's not there. What ya'll got?

I like to move mine around sometimes when i'm fishing, but don't like it moving when I'm running, etc. I put a bungee type rod strap over it. I stretch it over the base plate, but not over the top of the pedal. The foot control works like normal, and I just unhook the bungee strap when I want to move the pedal to the side, or remove the TM altogether.

I use velcro at the moment but I have condsidered prettier solutions

Has anyone successfully installed one of those recessed troller pedal wells on an XTB? Doesn't seem to be room if I do say so myself but hopefully I'm wrong!
