Been thinking about getting another prop for the SS. I got a couple choppers(26p and 28p) one of them has been worked.

Want a good all around prop that handles solid and will carry a load. Holeshot and acceleration more important than top end.

Thinking about a 28 hoss or Et??

Roger,

Are you running 1.87 gears? What kind of rpm and speed from the 28?

When I bought my boat it came with a 30 drag 4. It ran real well, but was more pitch than I wanted for everyday.

Matt I thought you had a pretty hot 28 that Robbie had done for you before? A 26 would be fun with the 280.

We have a 26 chopper 2, 28 chopper 2, and 28 et lightning that Robbie has done. He had tweaked the drag 4 I had, but it was a 30. All of them run real well. My everyday prop will probably be a 28 chopper or 28 et. I would like to run the et a little more this spring.

Yeah, a 28 seemed real fun, so I'm sure a 26 is that much better.

Those 26s? Whats the top one? Not a true lightning. Never run a hoss. I've wanted to though, I've always heard they run well.

There you go Kevin!

When I had my XR4, my fastest prop on my SS was a 31 Triton, followed by a Ron Hill tweaked 30 small ear. The small ear came onto a plane a bit better and was only 1/2 mph slower, which could be day to day variation.

It's interesting to me that some of you run big ear choppers. I tried two big ears when I had the XR4, and although I didn't wash the sides of the boat, the bow was always moving a bit. My boat never ran on a string with big ear choppers.

Now I've got a 225 PM, with a freshly worked gearcase, so I'll be testing this summer. 31 Triton, 30 Triton, 30 small ear, 29 SRX, 28 Dunamis, 26 Trophy...I don't need to buy any more props this year, lots to try.

26 chopper 2 knob and 28 triton... both are good wheels. The 26 is fun in the heavy air and rough water that summer provides.

The hoss is the best driving, biggest mph prop of any of them on my GS.

Thanks for all the feedback! Lets keep it going...Sounds like a Drag 4 is a good wheel and a worked chopper.

I know Yamaha props are fast but how do they do for daily use?(summer boating,2 people, beer cooler etc..?

Performance Propellars in Soddy Daisy Tenn. make a Yamaha drag Copy 14.5 diameter And they run strong !! Thicker Blades Should be more durable haven't heard not one bad report on these, The thinner Yami Drag do great for sand bar racing Hard to beat there quickness !!
