At 70 hours on my 280, compression was 150 all the way and leakdown was 4%.
With a stock consumer rev limiter?
you are 1/2 way there. Depends on rpms!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I said HARD that means high 8700 to 9200 every time out..
consumer 280 is 7850 rev limiter. Rpms is what shortens the life of these motors. 150 is about the max I have seen without replacing pistons, and that is rare, but possible. Usually get one rebuild on factory nic, but not always.
Just what I have found from the ones I have rebuilt.. There are always some extreme better, and worse....
Also every builder has different tolerances.......
I have pistons here that I think are paper weights, for a stock bore block, but I know guys who will run them in race motors...
