My fishing partner and I fish a regular Friday night tourney. One of the guys was admiring my partners 1998 2002 w/260 Mariner that we have been fishing out of for 12 years. BLAH...BLAH...BLAH. He proceed to tell us how he had a 20' Bumble Bee with a 250 Yamaha that was blowing away everything on the water and specifically included Bullets. (did not have it with him) Said "GPS'ed at 104 mph. I did all I could to keep from laughing and calling BS. I'd don't think a 20" Bumble Bee would run a 100 with a jet engine on it.
I have a 97 2003 with a stock Merc 200 that I believe would out run him.

They quit making Bumble Bee's in the early 80's did'nt they, a 250 yamaha would sink that old boat what do they go 550-575lbs??

No, they made 'em up thru the late 90s I think. Then pheonix bought the molds and built them under the name Bee Line for a couple years in the early/mid 2000s. They built 'em up to 21'....they'd carry a 250 fine. They ran out pretty good for a cookie cutter, but definitely wouldn't run with an Allison.

I have always read that the 2100 Bee hull was a splash of the 21' Bullet hull (with tweaks).

The onse I have seen around here are some strong runners but not in the same class as the A, B and S boats. Probably more in line with a Blazer.

I am very well convinced that those Bee guys and Ranger guys are reading Canadian speeds on their GPS's. Sounds better when they use metric numbers!:LMAO::LMAO::LMAO:

The Bumble Bee was not even close to a Blazer in performance. Did a B&W mag. test with a Bee/ 250 Yamaha and I remember 72-74 2 men medium load. Blazer will run upper 70's with same power maybe 80...

LOL...I won't question you at all.

I guess it depends on which B&WB artical you read. I have one of the 20' Bee with a 200 Vmax (2.6L Carb motor) where top end was 72 or 70.2. I want to say it was a 1998 artical.

The b&wb articles drive me insane, i stopped reading them along time ago. Some to seem pretty decent and others seem to be flat out bs.

There was one years ago with a 19' nitro and a xr4 or 6 they stuck a bobs cone on and claimed 76.....
