Best 1/8 mile prop for xb2003/grandsport? The yamaha drags seem to have high slip #s on the heavier xb03, does the xb03's need more blade?
1.87 gears, sportmaster, 225pm, 7500 limiter.

I'd still put my bets on a yamadrag for the short stuff.. Those slip #'s may be disagreeable for longer shot or top end runs, but for getting a boat flattened out and on it's way like right now, it's a difficult wheel to beat...

I've always loved the drag wheels on my GS... 24 drag with a good 260 is nasty out the gate and fun to drive.:big grin

With the 7500 limiter go with a 24yam drag.
Or take the limiter off with a 20p for 1/8 mile.

I'm currently running a 22 drag with about 14% slip through the light 1/8 mile, if its a true 22p. I was just wondering if I could do better, with more blade.

Prop work unknown, rpms around 7300ish. I don't have a tach recall.

Hard to beat a Yamaha Drag... I always ran a 22" for quarter, and I think my slip was down around 10 ish... Your limiter is what is going to "limit" your capabilities. A 20 would be best in an 1/8 (most likely)

You need some of that slip at the start to build the rpms. 24V trim helps a bunch gettin out of the hole. I still have my trim timer in mine too, just in case I know I'm gonna be running the drag prop.

Whats needed to convert over to 24v trim? I already run 2 batteries and a 15" single ram mid.

Single ram mid is horribly slow with an oildyne pump, and not near fast enough for drag racing. The goal is to have a fast enough trim that the hull doesnt slap the water on takeoff. It launches out of the water and the trim is fast enough to keep the hull in the air.

Wiring the oildyne (one that looks like 2 coffee cans end to end) up with 24V on the up side makes it a bunch faster.

A mercruiser pump (the one with the plastic reservoir on the bottom) is a lot faster than the 12V oildyne and almost as fast as a 24V oildyne. I really didnt notice a difference when I went from 24V oildyne to 12V mercruiser. A mercruiser pump wired with 24V on the up would be blistering fast, and probably unsafe for someone not using a trim computer (my opinion).

If you are rigged with a mercruiser pump, you should be good to go, but if you have an oildyne you may want to try the 24V solution to improve your holeshot times.

You'll just need one more solenoid and, assuming you have more than one button on the wheel, you'll dedicate one button to 24v. You'll need it to have a decent 1/8 mile setup

Lol! Are y'all at least coming to the race. It's an awesome race site. Closest the spectators get to the boats going down the track. Y'all should plan on coming
