I have run 2 batteries for 9 years. When I am fishin alot I buy new ones every year as cheap insurance. In Fla. in the swamp a little wind and current and alot of weeds is all you need to fight. I could see needing 3 in some of yall's situations. The motors after the late 90's have the big alt. The only reason I bought a pmax in 96 is the 260's had the 16 amp and no warranty. Weight with the bigger motor doesn't seem to be as big an issue. Drag seems to be the issue at the higher speeds. Bob
