Why not just buy the correct water pump top and see if that fixes your problem? Chasing gremlins sucks...having known good parts makes the job a lot easier.

I'm going to do just that...buy a new correct one and the other to modify for a back up.

Y'all have the part numbers for the tube and adapter? Or where I could order them?
My 280 is doing the same thing. Lower waster psi and runs hot above 5500.
