I am putting my 1996 XB 2003 up for sale. I have not been using it enough lately. I bought it new in 1996 and it has been garage kept since then. 293 total hours on the hull. Freshwater only. I originally had a 225 pro max on it and when Mercury announced the end of the 280 line in 2005 I bought a brand new one. Motor has 71.8 hours on it and compression is 140 in 5 cyl, 135 in 1. Motor has fat shaft sportmaster. I have had this set up just over 100mph with a 28 lightning et and the trolling motor and tackle still on the boat. It now has a 26 et and runs mid to high 90's. I have kept up with the updates and it has the skid planer and ally foil. Has stainless marine mechanical trim gauge. Side slide drivers seat. Extra bucket seat, bicycle seat, fishing seat and a removable rear bench. Allison cover. Hydraulic steering. The electronics are dated but work, Johnson trolling motor in a motorguide mount.
This is a very clean boat. I am asking 24,000.00 OBO. Located in Central Fl. 2018-04-13 09.48.10.jpg

It is mounted offset. Was originally a side steer and I replaced the dash when I put in the side slide seat.

Got to admit, that is one fine boat. I love boats or trucks that have been maintained like this. The fresh 280 is off the charts. I'd love to have on some day. I may drive a XB21, but I love all the Allison's. If I had the garage space and the money I'd have one of all of them.

They are well deserved, that is one covetable boat. Would make me personally very happy to own. Nobody knows about them where I live.

G allan this would be a great boat for your altitude! Altitude kills power and this XB is not lacking that so would be a rocket still for you at a mile high.

Sweet Setup !!!

Yep, 3 1/2% HP loss per thousand feet above sea level. So 280 likely drops to 200-ish at 8000 feet, peak RPM likely down 1000 rpm at least, My fave home lakes are 8200 and 6400 feet. If this boat is still available, it would be perfect and I can afford it. It's the you-ship cost that I don't know about that scares me a bit, I don't know how much it would be to get it to Utah. Of all the boats I have drooled over the last two weeks this one is my fave.
