Yamaha help

Got a good friend with a 2001 Yamaha 150... It comes out of the hole fine, but layes over immediately after planing off.. It never dies, but won't pull up past about 2500(ish)rpms... From the fuel tank to the reeds has all been replaced new, and he feel the diaphram in the fuel pump is good...

Sounds like ignition.

i had an omc that was doing that and was going into guardian mode, after i changed thermostats it started running fine

had a bridgeport 2.4 that had a stator go out...it would idle and run a low rpm..but would fall on its face when you tried to build the Rs...

^^^ that was my very first guess also, but had a yamaha guy suggest otherwise..
