Got a friend who has a 2002 XB03 with a stock pad. Motor is a 2008 200 DFI with a JC's cone.

Question is, with a stock pad does the boat require more lift from the prop?

We tested 4 of my props that run great on my XB03 which has about 30% of the pad. none of my props produced the bow lift needed.

The only weight on the bow is a Motorguide 24 volt Tour series Trolling motor.
the 4 we tested are.

2- Hydromotive O/T, 27 and 28 pitch
1- Spinelli DR-4 30 pitch
1- Hill Marine Eagle 4 30 pitch (modified)

The only prop that did not hit the limiter is the Eagle 4, 82.9 MPH @ 5800 RPM's.

When I had an XB03, the pad was stock for as long as I had it. I never felt that it lacked bow lift in any way. But with the stock lip, the nose shouldn't have to fly as high to get the hull to run clean....the lip will lift the whole boat. Just my $.02.

8 inch set back, @ 1/4 below. We went with only 8 inch's because of the engine weight, think its 505 pounds.

With 8" of set back your effective motor height is higher because you are closer to transom...1/4" below is good on a xb 2003 with 14" of set back. I would drop motor and see if that helps. I would try a 1/2" lower and see if that helps...
