The A6 does not have replacement chips, only the A63/A48/A36/A49 etc series 11350 box chips can be swapped. 2nd, the A63(A6 in the newer 849849 box) runs a 56psi system. The A48 runs a 39psi system. The A48 will be better on the 260 and the A63 on the drag. Not talking JUST racing, talking everyday use. The reason the drag needs the A63 is that the drag turns more rpm. What happens is that when you approach 10,000rpm , the injector is nearly maxed out and running close to wide open. The ecu loses control of the fuel curve. With higher pressure, the pulse width can be shortened and control of the injector is regained. The 56psi system will typically run richer at idle on a 260 unless you recurve the box. Thus from our experience, the A48 works better on a 260 since its generally not going to see much more than 9500rpm and will have a better idle quality. Thats just our experience, others may have a different opinion. Merc however did leave the 280 with a 39psi system as well and certainly it was for good reason. Get an 11350 DIGITAL box and you can swap them back and forth and see which you like better yourself. BTW the A37 is an analog box with the TPI circuit swapped to a full MAP style input, similar to the digitals, but not the same. Can't swap chips in the A37 either. Good price on it though!
