I wish Mercury would make a 260 XS lightweight motor for all of us to enjoy. But I guess eventually there will be no 2 strokes no matter how clean they are? I am just wondering if Darris is going to build boats in 5 years between 21' and 24' to accomodate the big 4 stroke motors that are here to stay? I might just sell my boat in 3 or 4 years and start saving for the new generation of boats that will be $50k to $60k or more in the coming years. Also I am wondering what motors people are going to be buying new to drag race or will Mercury build anything to race out of the box. Who knows what is coming. See you guys at the rally.

Mercury has produced thousands of V6 two strokes over the years.
There should be enough rebuildable motors and parts around for at least another ten years. Also, if the market is there, some after market parts guys could spring up with a good supply.

True, they wouldn't be new motors , but we wouldn't have to junk our XB 02's or SS2000's.

There are guys around still keeping those inline 6 Merc's from the seventies running.

Also, technology moves forward; maybe someone can build a 4 stroke motor with a plastic block and steel sleaves that weighs 400 pounds and produces 250 HP.

Just some thoughts.

HACKY...... the first coats of Yeallr went on Yeallr II this morning at 4am!

This afternoon she comes out of the spray booth and the rigging starts Tommorrow!
