Water pressure gauge

My water pressure gauge works but doesn’t read true. I have been told to pull the hose off the back of the gauge and off the motor block, blow out with air hose and reinstall. Is that good advice or should I start with a different approach?

Mine has always worked good, although if you are using the white tubing, it is easily kinked. I would inspect the length for kinks. I don't see and issue with disconnecting each end and blowing the line out. The line is pretty cheap, you could run another one real quick straight to the gauge and leave the cowl off and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the responses. Seemed I didn’t have much to risk so I blew out the line. About 4 ounces of rotten “water” came out. I’ll try to attach a picture and will report back after I run the boat next week.

Problem solved. Gauge works perfect and I reset to 0 so it reads true.
