Upcoming Event: ODBA Duel On The Delta August 17 & 18, 2013

Minimum: $10,000 Purse

Wanted to invite everyone to the ODBA Duel On The Delta Drag Boat Race August 17 & 18, 2013. The races will be held at Live Oak Landing in Stockton, Alabama.The nearest hotels are in Bay Minette, Alabama which is about 10 minutes from race site. Food vendors will be on hand both days of the event. We plan to have a big turnout. Sponsors have secured a minimum $10,000 purse for this event. Saturday night, The River Pub will host a party and will be cooking for the racers and their families so plan to have good food and a lot of fun.

Some of the hotels in Bay Minette have offered special low prices for racers. The hotel information will be available on the odbaracing.com website soon.

Or, they could stay at Wind Creek Casino in Atmore. Right on the interstate, 25 miles from the race site.

ODBA ought to contact the Creeks about sponsoring this event every year. They have money to burn, both government welfare money and casino money.

I did contact Wind Creek Casino. Spent time in there office and on the phone. They would'nt give us a dime for the event.

The City of Bay Minette has offered us a generous donation for our event as long as our host hotels are in Bay Minette. The City of Bay Minette is excited and willing to help us anyway possible to hold our event at Live Oak.


Therefore I would recommend staying where the people appreciate us and want to support our association.

Went down and watched the races Saturday and really enjoyed some close racing. Overall I was very impressed with the way it was conducted once the races got started. The only complaint I heard among the spectators was it was late starting. It was a shame that the weather wouldn't cooperate, was really looking forward to seeing some more racing Sunday. Thanks for setting it up and hope to see more races coming our way.
