Just curious because my buddy has a couple straight skeg sporties kicking around from a twin boat. Is anyone successfully running a straight skeg sporty with an epoxied on torque tab? Good or bad idea versus the traditional swept bag skeg with factory tab built in?

My first few OMC gearcases and all the mercs back in the day had a bondo tab... no big deal. It works just like any of the Bob's nose jobs of that era. If I had one now I would run it in a second.
Works fine.

I have done it many times. I also have one now that is notched and rolled over like a 200 case. i have been in the teens with it. You can also have a torq tab welded on too.
