My boat came with a pito tube speedometer. I knocked out one of the short screws used to clamp the line from the pito pick up to the speedo. So I have a shallow hole in my transom. What is the best way to patch this?

A long, long drive back to the factory ?

Clean the hole, larger drill size. Mix some two part epoxy. Using a tooth pick slowly fill the hole from back to front. Pack it in. Let it dry. Create a shallow dimple in the epoxy and cut just a little outside. Fill with gelcoat spray a touch of cooking spray on it. Let it dry and finish sand it.

Bigger holes require fiberglass but if it’s a small shallow screw hole you can sand the edges of the hole and fill it with gel then polish it out.
