Took the ole girl out this weekend and while running my tach went to zero. I popped the cowling and found the rectifier melted a hole in itself. My question is what purpose does it serve other than sending signal to the tach from stator and will it hurt to run the motor with just one instead of two? Thanks in advance fellas. Jarrod

It regulates the voltage from your stator so you dont cook your electronics and battery.

Thanks Andy...I have just finished reading up on the rectifier after doing a search. You guys are very knowledgeable. It is very convenient to turn this box on, type in what you're inquiring about and have an answer to your question. Thanks Allison owners board.

I just changed a dying rectifier on my '98 225 Pmax SS. I had moved my tach drive to the other one a couple of months ago.
