I went to Pickwick saturday and sunday to watch the races. Saturday was time trials/test and tune thing and today was the actual races. I was expecting a lot bigger crowd. There was a good number of boats there, but I was expecing an impenetrable floatilla of boat. However, I idled right up to the spectator line, dropped the TM, and watched some big boats run. I don't know how fast they were running, looked like 85-90 to me, but I could be way off on that. The water was ROUGH and these things were still moving along good (of course, a 40' boat isn't bothered much by a 3' roller), so their size and the fact that they weren't bobbing around may have made the speed look slower than it really was. Didn't get to see near as many 'kinis as I expected to see out there either. In fact, there wasn't much to look at other than the race boats.
