I got to 89.3 yesterday running up stream on my home lake. My goal was to hit or break 88. 2+2 w/250ProXS w/1.75 sporty. Light load, 1/2 tank of fuel, no wind, no current, very slight chop, water temp 70F, air temp 80F, 29psi, rpm guage showed 6k rpm but it was slightly less on the merc monitor. Not too bad for a 21 with 1.75 gears!! It is a solid 85mph boat with a fishing load.
I know alot of folks don't care for the big barrel props but this one seems to be doing great. The prop has 8 PVS size vent holes, 2 for each ear. As per T.B., I plugged two holes on opposite sides on the prop nut side to help with hole shot (which helped).
