Need An Old Style Merc Jackplate

I have a cmc and the top holes have two sets of holes, they are a half inch narrower, I think thats what they are for

I'll bet you're right. I didn't realize the older motors were different, but according to Glenn Reynolds, they changed to the current bolt pattern in 1980. Wanna sell that one if it is in fact for the old motor? I'll PM you my phone number.

Just got off the phone with CMC and am a bit confused. As expected, they just drill their plates to fit the current models, but the guy said I could drill the holes I needed in their existing plate. Glenn seemed to think you couldn't. Anybody been there, done that?
