Since i took my 280 off and put my 225 promax on, I've been chasing this issue. Its putting my 28 offshore cut and my 29 SRX on the limiter at 80 mph. There's' no way its running 20 percent slip so I'm thinking the tach reading must be wrong. ECU maybe? Tried changing tach feed to other regulator and no difference. Makes no sense. I can hold it to the pin for miles reading 6800 rpm and 80 mph on GPS.

Ya same 1:87 stock sporty. I was about even with the pad and i even dropped the motor half an inch and no change. Figured if it was my slip that high it would help. The last time I had this motor on the boat i was running a 26 offshore cut and running like 83 on the limiter with 3 guys.
IMO the rpm is reading a thousand to high and putting me on the limiter restricting my speed.
