Been thinking of getting an old school small lake rocket the last couple years to play around with and I have come across a solid Allison 15R for sale no motor. Looking for any info on them. How do they handle, what power is best, what kind of speeds can be expected, anything else?
Thanks for any info!

Currently putting one together with jr.
Rigging it with an Erude 75 Hustler......figure it’s a good starting point before he gets his hands on my 02.
Mike Winstone (aka Talonkid) rigged his with a lightweight 12” 2.5 Merc.....best top end passes we’re around 105mph if I recall.

100+ in a 15ft boat WOW, too crazy for me. My target would 70-80mph tops. Same as you my son would eventually be driving it when his Voodoo gets too slow for him in a couple years :)

His son already has a 60 HP on a VooDoo. The next step could be an inline 6 or V4 on the 15 Ally. Or maybe a 90 Yamaha.
