I am puting new prop shaft seals in my CLE gear case with some help from a local tech. Should I put locktite on the locking ring and gear case threads when I reassemble the case?

No If you put anything on the threads it should be anti-seize. The locking ring is good enough to keep the nut from backing out.

Locktite on gear case

Thanks for the info!!!!

The tech helping me had not seen a CLE before and wanted to be sure it would be reliable when reassembled.

This board is great because there is so much experience around the country that it makes up for the lack of high performance shops in some parts of the country.

Jim a freind of mine bought a boat that had loctite on those threads an it took 3 men and a little girl to get er broke loose. he was lucky it didn't strip the threads and scrap the casing.
Glad to help.
