Livewell pumps

How do ya'll set ya'll livewell switches when fishn?

When it's hot I only fill the livewell once and turn the fill pump off, close the livewell and turn the recirculator pump on all the time. The timer thing works ok inda winter time. On my oold boat I added a extra recirc pump cause one just don't hardly cut it with a big sack inda summer. I figured wasn't nuthin but Bud Light goin in yo livewell

I leave the valve open and run both pumps on auto. I feel like it keeps the old water flushed out. When I move spots, I close the valve.

I have replaced the original valve with one from flo-rite, it is automatic, i turn the pump on and never turn it off untill done. The lake temp here is 98 now.

Why leave the valve open when the system
has an overflow?
