Lake Travis

fishinfireman or any other Texas anglers:

I am helping a friend of mine gather some information on Lake Travis.
He will be fishing a tournament there in February and has never been on
the lake before. Any recommendations on guides or other tips would
be appreciated.

Thats one lake I have never been on.
I will do some asking-- I know some guys who are pretty good sticks in that part of Texas.

it's a great party lake, but i never really thought of it as the best fishing lake.

my grandparents bought a bunch of property on it in the late 60's and finally moved there when they retired in the mid 80's. in my 33 years i can count the number of nice bass i've caught on one hand. i have had good luck with catfish!

the lake is very low right now and last i heard all the ramps were high and dry
