I have been studying the small motors 3.5 hp, 4hp and 6 hp. They all seem to be identical except the paint and graphics.

Since Evinrude basically is all 2-stroke, did they contract their 4-stroke portables from Mercury? I know this happens from time to time (Mercury used to paint Yamaha 4-strokes black and put their blue stickers on them before the Verado was in production).

ah....

Ok

Thanks.

I wonder if it changes after 8 hp. The Merc and Rudes from 9.9 hp up were totally different.

Tohatsu is building for Honda now also.. Tohatsu is arguably the best outboards made and is my pick for non performance..
