I gots a problemo, I fried my TM at the FB rally, luckily I have a spare one, problem is a guy gave me the one that was on there which was a 12V , he wired it all up while my spare 24V was being fixed. So now I took the 12V TM off & went to hook up the 24V. He had 1 hot wire off the block taped up, I hooked it up where it was supposed to go, then changed the plug to go from 12 to 24, I plugged her in & I GOT SMOKE. Yanked it loose, swapped the red wires positions , plugged her in & got arc. To the best of what I know about these there aint but two ways to wire this animal up.

Is it possible that when the 24 v TM was being repaired, that they replaced the guts with 12v & this is causing the problems

Disconnect the trol motor plug and hook your batteries up the way they should be, if no arking, then check the voltage at the receptical. Also go ahead and check the wires inside the head of the trollin motor to see how bad they may be smoked.
