I have 1994 Xb2003(25 one ever made). When or did they change the transom. If the transom's did change in say 1997 then do a need a longer or shorter jackplate. Right now I am at 10" and confused on what I need to purchase. If they added 2" in 1997 then I would need 12" of setback instead of 14, this is how I understand it.

Please ring in with your thoughts.

Can't really help with your needs. I have a 7" 8" jack plate. Holding a Frankenstein Johnson/Merc/Yamaha/ .
No lip. I think it was born with .060
I don't have anything in the boat other than battery's trim and fuel systems. No trolling motor or mount. Just me, life jacket, throw cushion, dock bumpers, a plastic box holding drinking water, spark plugs and a few tools.

It really depends upon how much weight and where you carry it in/on the boat. Then how much weight is hanging off the back end. You try to get the fore/aft balance correct so very little or no positive trim is needed to fly the boat.

When I first rigged my boat I was told to try 12" and then go back as needed. This was with a Johnson 200.

I had a johnson 200 Venom on mine until recently, went to a a 225 Promax. Wanting to go to 14" of setback. Typically run two people, three batts, anchor, 40 lbs of gear.

We have the same boat only mine was ALTX3A25F394 #25, it is true that our boat did your less lip than newer models. You any pic of your rig?

Learn how to drive the boat with what you have, then you can make changes.
Set back will help lift, prop height can help lift or hurt it 10" setback may be plenty I'd run it.
