Cowl replacement

I have a 1995 225 promax with a less than pretty cowling. I might be able to pick up a upper and lower cowling from a 2003 200 merc efi. Would the power head have to be pulled on the promax to place the 2003 cowling?

yes...

there the high perf cowls have a plate that goes between the powerhead and adapter plate

my 96 225 ProMax has a bobs cone and a bobs cowl and the lower skirt is of a 260. James

You've got a classic. Keep it a classic! JMHO Keep an eye on the boards or EBay for a replacement or re-paint and re-decal what you've got. I love them old cowls!! Too cool!

Interesting that you say that. The ally is also a 1995. I have new interior, new carpet, and excellent gelcoat. Boat looks almost new, but the cowl somewhat dates the boat. Thought about repair, paint, and update stickers on cowl, but who knows?

Yes its paint, Jack painted it to match my new drag boat. The whole thing is AWESOME!!!!!
