Does anyone know of a good source of performance boat ins. ? Like you have on collector cars with , Grundy or Haggerty. Most of the auto ins. company flip out when you say you have a 300 hp outboard on a XB2002 Allison. You can say it is a 200 or 225 ,but if you have a claim and they send an adjuster out to inspect the damage you are out of luck.

check your local coast guard regulations. in tn. anything over 20 ft. under coast guard regulations there is no horse power rating. always worked for me. i insured my xr2001 rr at formost. best boat company i ever delt with. will used them on my next up coming purchase. i had either 14,500 coverage and it was around 478 a year.

Mine is through Allstate, but I've never had a claim. My agent knows it is HP, too. Less than $400 a year.

I've got Foremost. Haven't heard anything bad about them. I told them exactly what I had and they said ok.
