Check the weight out: I believe it's 640 some lb's @ $40,000 a unit. It's also not available in US and no warranty. Pretty easy to say I'll pass on this.....

Yep going to need a 22+ft boat for a motor like that. It will come to NorthAmerica eventually and there's some deep pockets that 40 large is like a dime to most of us.

So let's look @ the scenario of what you can apply a 640 pound 15" shaft motor on: can't be put on any 24 degree v due to transom height. I looked into Phantom 30 and Tuff 28 and to run a single it needs to be a 25". Running a pair on these you can get away with 20". Too heavy for any 20-22' v bottom. They just tried a 400r on a Lanier cat (20 some foot long) and he took it off and has it for sale (been running 300's on it). So basically the only boats that can use this is 28-32 cat. Sure is a lot of money in development for such a small market. I personally was hoping for something much lighter to use in the 20-22' market.

Maybe I missed it but, What boat do you want to put this motor on? If its one of the sport boats I would go with a 2.5 . If its a 21 Bass Boat I would go with a 3.0 liter.
