A question for peolpe who have lubed there cables

I have made the helm luber as per the ad on the owners board. My question is does the 1/2" hose slide over the threads or next to the threads. Also does this work for all other cables also.

its been a while since i did mine, but if i remember correctly, i slid the hose past the threads and a couple inches up ,on the outside cable casing and double clamped it right to the cable casing .

As for the first question I don't remember. As for the second one yes! I've used one on teleflex and Morse steering both.
