I have a 225X engine with the 5 pedal rubber coated reed blocks with small sections of the rubber missing where the fiberglass reeds seat on the block. A new reed block assembly are very expensive (~$200.00 each). Has anyone had success in using other types of reed assembles or perhaps refurbished the the rubber coating with success?

Thanks,
Harvey

I have a 2002 225X.

Chris Carson Marine at one time offered a service to remove the rubber coating, lap the sealing surfaces and install his OEM equivalent reeds. Had it done on mine a few years ago. Not sure if he still does this service but I'm guessing yes.
Sure made it idle better.
Good luck.

David, I just talked to CCM and they still do the service and there services and reeds are very reasonably priced. Chris was extremely helpful as well. I did have the injectors serviced as well. Thanks!
