When I bought my first Allison it had a stock 225Promax. The first time I drove it the torque at the stering weel was so great I sent the lower unit off to J.C. to do their magic.

Now I have a 300XS with hydraulic steering on a 21XB Basport Pro and, in spite of the hydraulic Seastar Pro steering, I can still feel the tremendous torque. So my question is, and I have asked this before, would a J.C. mod to the lower unit be advisible? I don't go fast anymore but at around 75 or 80 the steering torque is manageable but strenous. Any advice would be appreciated. I haven't heard of anyone with a 300XS sportsmaster doing this mod. Opinions please. Thanks.
