My buddy just got one today. break in mode is how long?

What is the limiter set to on this motor? Where is the power band on the torque monster anyway? I like it but man it seems to make a lot of noise under the cowl at idle and low rpm... the compressor is noisy I guess too..?

I've just never really been around the 3.0 merc either.

Not sure on the break in but I think its like 4 to 6hrs but a lot is conditions which can make it shorter or longer.

The limiter should be 6300

Peak HP used to be at 5900-6000, anything above is wasted motion.

These motors do make more noise that a rude or yami mainly due to the lack of sound deadening material.

Thanks for the info... The limiter is around 6300 and besides the noise from the compressor the thing is nice. I did notice how light the cowl is compared to say an Etec hood. I told my buddy he could put fatmat in there to help some. It runs nice so I think he will get over the noise pretty soon.

You ever grab one off an Etec and you will know what I mean... No it's not light but more so than the Rude.:shock:

Heck, my daughter could play house in the Etec cowl.... lol
