1.jpg 6.JPG 17.JPG 35.jpg 02092012b.jpg I owned and raced this boat 2x in spring 1982. I got it on trade from N.C., it's a super light NOA boat previously driven by Bunny Goldston. I ran it 2x, won 2x and sold it. I had a new 1982 13' Allison to run in EP Class. Nov. 2010e were made aware of the May Fly's existence through friends in the Texas AOMCI1.jpg 6.JPG 17.JPG 35.jpg 02092012b.jpg . The boat had changed hands many times since I'd sold it and was owned by a club member since 1993 although he never ran the boat. In Dec. 2010 my then 19 yr. old son Hans, salivating, talked me into buying it back. A good friend and body shop owner Darrell Beaulier guided Hans through the restoration after Darris advised me how to brace the bottom before cutting out the rotten wood. Hans' restoration story is told in a 2012 edition he Antique Outboarder. The boat is set up for closed course as i ran it. I built two props like the ones I'd built and run back then. It runs 66.5 mph@6700 RPM with my weight, picks up 200 RPM with Hans. The boat is a pleasure to drive and would be competitive in EP Class today. The motor is a 1975 powerhead from my 1977-85 racing days, the cowl and gearcase are 1979. The first photo is from 1982. Hans learned to drive the May Fly and has driven in SST45 Class since 2012. I run the May Fly regularly.

That's great you were able to find it and get it back. Looks like your son did a great job on the resto. Congratulations. On a nice ride
