I have a 1974 16' allison, I would like some advice on how to set this boat up, The motor is a 150 merc with a bob's nose cone stock lower unit, 14x23 allison cut chopper, 10" set back 3/4" below the pad. Steering is in the center along with the batt. fuel tank and trim pump just behind the seat. I am running 67.4mph @ 7000 rpm

I can't tell you I have knowledge about this boat but on my XB03 I run a faster speed turning a 28 pitch @ 6400 than a 25 pitch 7000, 82 compared to 85.

16 alllison

last one we had was set up with a 4" plate, 28 inline chopper and turned 56-5800 at around 70...10" seems like a lot of setback and 3/4 is a little deep.

The holeshot is pretty good, Im with yall about 10" being to much but it was an allison jackplate I had so I used it. The boat pourposes until it gets around 35mph. If any one has a 15" midsection for sale let me know, I need one. I guesed that the motor was about 3/4" but I measured it today and it is really 1 1/8" below and im out of jackplate adj.
