Can you give me a little more information about the motor? Roughly how many hours of use, gear ratio, how much power does it make to the prop shaft, how long have you owned it? I am fairly new to the performance side. I have owned quite few outboards over the years, but they were all factory motors, my last merc was 225 promax on 21 ft Bullet. I never turned a bolt on that motor in 7 years. I hurt my 1991 150 prov yamaha and am looking for replacement motor.

About 200 total hours, 1.87 lower unit was coned about 17 yrs ago and hardly used as it was a spare. It has a new trim pump and the injectors were cleaned and flowed about 10 hrs ago. Oil injection has been removed. I have owned it 2 yrs it came on my current boat when I bought it but only ran it about 8 hrs then took it off and kept it as a spare engine. It puts out about 165ish at the prop. It lost a locator pin or broke a ring in 1997 and has only had about 50hrs on it since then.
