    Where are we guys?

This is where I am now, I think my 260 might need a hone and rings, going to find out in the spring. While a re-ring is certainly better than a full re-build, I don't know how much longer I can fight this battle. I might be better off parting out my 260 and putting the money towards a 300R...

    Where are we guys?

Great info guys! I didn't realize the new Sport Masters are non-ratcheting and that putting a nosecone on a non- Sporty lower voids your warranty. Ally-Sun, what horsepower Pro Max XS did you get? It looks SWEET on your boat! I really like the new 250R and 300R, would love to have one for all...

    Where are we guys?

What did you put that 200XS ROS on? How does she perform? I have heard some good things about that motor and you can supposedly buy a brand new one from Dubai for $10k as Mercury apparently still sells new ones overseas.

    Where are we guys?

No intention of scraping my GrandSport, just wondering everyone's thoughts and plans are on where the future will lead us Allison owners with SS's, GrandSport's, XB 2002's and 2003's. Not really having motor issues other than re-building when my 260 pops and wondering how long parts will be...

    Where are we guys?

Yes, I am talking about the 225X, the 260s and 280s. I have a 260 on my GrandSport and my personal best is 103 MPH GPS. I can't get the same performance out of a 175XS. It would be like going from a Ferrari to an Escort. No, the new 175 Pro XS is a four stroke, 3.4L V-6 that weighs 470 pounds...

    Where are we guys?

As time goes on, our beloved 2 stokes get older and parts harder to find. Mercury Racing has addressed everyone's needs but us Allison owners, although I would worry about some of the other SOBs hanging a 300R on the transom. As our motors become obsolete, what are we to do? Ignore Darris's...

Selling my 1998 Boatmate dual axle trailer for my GrandSport. Brakes work, bunks replaced with composite, some rust on the rear cross member, needs a little TLC but overall a good unit. I bought a new single axle so looking to send this one to a new home. Asking $895.00 OBO, open to all offers...

    2.5 20" Sport Master

I have a 20", RH, 1.87 Sport Master for sale. I just took it to a local shop and had it completely gone through. The gears look good, I had new seals and a new water pump impeller installed, then she was filled with fresh lube. I am selling this unit as I switched to a 15" mid last year...

Thanks XSive, that information makes me feel much more comfortable going with the SeaStar Pro and Allison cylinder.

    SeaStarHyd. Steering on an "A"boat

I am looking at a Grand Sport and it has dual cable steering right now. I am thinking one of the first things to do is replace it with the SeaStar Pro and the Allison cylinder(HC6345). What do you do with them in the winter? I could see the fliud freezing in sub zero temps and doing big time...

I should tell you that I am looking for a boat that will do 100+ without a lot of motor work or exotic add ons. I want soemthing that is pretty stock and will last a long time as I don't want to have to rebuild the engine every couple of hundred hours, etc.

Hi Ziemer, Yea, I know most people put 2.5s on them, but I have always been a little different. I have read some threads on here as well as S&F where some crazy guys have put a 300PM or 300X on a Grand Sport and loved it. As far as my experience, I haven't had a boat that would do over 65...

Hi Guys, I am new to this board and I recently joined Scream and Fly. I lost my boat this year due to a rotted transom and have started my search for a new rig. I have always loved the Grand Sport and I am going to look for a used one without an engine. My plan is to find a 300X to mount on...
