Xs2003 Grandsport setback advice

Hey guys,
so im getting ready to finish off my transom and have a 2005 Evinrude 150hp thats going on it for now.
I have read so much on different setback opinions that im just lost now.
Going to go manual jackplate, set and forget. so what amount of setback should I be looking for?
No lip on pad. I deal with a bit of chop so I'm not looking for max speed, looking for a balance.

12-14” and having the lip would be very helpful with your lower horsepower.

thanks guys appreciate all the info.
Once I've had the boat for a bit, I will likely step up to a 2.5 on a 15inch offshore mid, sport master alla that. I'm just not sold on a particular powered yet. I want to build something I can run all day long with good reliability.

Ok quick change of mind. got offered 280 on 15inch mid for a steal. 10-12" setback? need a bit of rough water handling, will be adding buoyancy to the jackplate.

Still 12" is what I found to work best. I'm at 13" setback with 15" mid.

GS with a 200 and lip I am at 13 set back.

Who can give me the measurements on the skeg modification? if I should do it that is.
Also cav plate? new worthwhile or keep an eye out for second hand?
