One of my friends just bought a new 250 proxs for his XB2003. Anybody else running this setup. It has a 9" Allison jackplate. Not sure what prop we need to run either. I was going to try a 32 chopper.

Hey John the jackplate is a 9-10-11 isn't it? I guess with the 3 liter you want it at 9". Kevin will be upset that he bought the used boat. He could have had a new xb2003 without gas tank for $36,000 plus taxes.

most that have run big blocks on the XB2003 have gone with the 3.5 to 4" plates.

We ran it this weekend but the motor is in break-in stage. I got it up to 80 with a 25 trophy, it has 1.75 gears and a SM. Going to try several different props. Not sure what the engine height should be with this motor.

Seriously considering going green. Might sell all my 280/260 stuff and do the same thing. Any updates on how the boat runs??

BadBait has been running a 250 on his xb03 for 5 years and loves it. I think he said 4" for set back and 102 for top end.

Been on the fence about it for a while now. But if it runs that good I'll probably do it.

I have my 200 for sale and I think I may have it sold. If I do then, in the next few weeks I am going to be on the hunt for a good use 225 or 250 Pro XS. I doubt Ill find one with a sporty so I am gonna cone the torque master. Anyone have any idea what prop to run?

Hey K-Dawg,
If you are still going with a big block on your 2003, I may have what you are looking for in a motor and set-up. I have a 250xs on my 2003, and I have a 2006 225 pro xs sitting on a stand ready to go. Call me at 352-665-4961 or e-mail at mercury2553@yahoo.com for details. Ricky
