Your 7750 limiter is going to dictate that your prop needs to be a 26 Yamaha or Hoss Triton I, in my opinion. Change the limiter to 8600 and then you can run some 24's and be more competitive. You have to spin to win.

What are you looking to do? Have fun or be somewhat competitive with other boats and similar power?

Your best bet is to have the limiter removed and run a smaller Yamaha. At least a 24 or even a 22. When FBI was alive and running, most of us ran 22's in the Lake Racer class.

CDI flashed my box to a ROS ecu with an 8600 rev. It is alot sweeter to be able to swing even if you don't always do it. Especially prop testing!!!!!!!!!!!! WORTH the 300 buckarros.

12 in is a lot of set back for an XB02 they feel real flighty with that much and not good for drag racing..put a 28 on it it will go faster than you will want 2...

man i wish i could tell yall how i have my 2002 with a drag motor set up that i have my whole hard drive filled with data from my stalker radar gun with the 1/4 mile software that i have spent all spring and summer setting up but ive got it as quick as i can. Thats going through 2 engine rebuilds and about 10 differnt props that were constanly being worked by everybody all over the country. Im going to give a try next year in the DSRA. I think there is a little left in it. I will let you in on something that i found out is if your setting up for the 1/4 mile make your first 1/2 the track as fast as you can and make all the other guys catch you.Cause every body will probably all be running 22 pitch props and your top speed will all be pretty close. Ive figured it up and if you can make it to 75mph 1 second fast than the other guy your racing and your top speed is 94 and theres is 104 they cant catch you in 1/4 mile. Thats my .2 cents

My input don't count much because I am new to haulin azz in boats but I know for a fact that your engine can be turned to 10000 rpm.I don't imagine you would want to do that but with the right ecu its possible and the drag boat guys turn em that hard.

Premium and good oil!

Yes, but the motor will last about 1/4 of the time than if he were to keep it under 8000. (Plus, only way a 280 will turn 10k is if he changes over to 260 electronics.) :wink
