Until 2 years ago I ran a stock 200 EFI with a 2:1 CLE lower unit on my XB2003. Using a 28 pitch prop I ran 91/92 mph. It might have gone faster but I didn't want to push it with the CLE.

That is very impressive. Many XB2003 owners have struggled to get 90 mph out of a properly set-up boat with a 225 Promax.

I would agree with Catfish, I have a modified 260 with sportmaster, and loaded anything between 90 to 95 would be a good run. According to the mercury Prop calculator, looks like 78mph would be what you would get with a 25p prop in a perfect world. I think you could very likely go to 26 or even 27p

gotmyally, who is it that provides the limiter removal service?
I am now running a 280 with sportmaster LU on the 2003. It runs easy in the low 90s - 2 people with no fishing equipment. I have 2 gps in boat so I don't think my mph is off. Maybe my perspective of conservative driving is off.

The 200EFI came from Tommy Dunn in NC so maybe he had done more to it than I thought?? It would for sure turn more than 6000 RPMs.

I had a xb2003 with a 200 xri
1.87 gears Titus case
Svs
Removed limiter

I could spin a 26 hydro OT 7200/7300 right at 90 solo and light
Ran 85 2 up loaded to fish
Ran 80 with any load as long as it was balanced.

Subtract 2 mph for svs
Without a raised limiter speed may improve propping in the powerband, but fun factor would go way way down. Having to run a 30 P at 6 k would kill fun factor

Thanks for the info guys, right now I have an old astroglass 19.5 v195 with a much newer Mercury 200EFI with hydro steering, would like to transfer this motor setup to a sweet allison, I have always been in love with them, so sexy!

Brucato will only do it is you buy their ACU.
Simon could not raise mine last time I tried, I had to send the box back and forth before giving up.

Last ECU reflash I did was via Dennis Hoffman at Hoffman Marine in Tennesee.

I have a nice R32 ECU for a 225 Pro Max with a 7600 RPM limiter if anyone is interested. I have gone the ACU route.
