There are alot of laws here in Washington State as far as boating is concernd.I work for Washington state ferries,so I see first how needed the saftey equipment is.Our boat is always stocked with all the saftey equipment.Rachelle has made it her pet peeve to make sure always up to date on what we need to have.

A water proof flash light will do. Like Aaron said better safe than sorry. We need all that stuff also. It depends on what size boat you have as to what gear you need. I also have a whistle on my vest. it saved that Titanic girl.:big grin

Yup, flares required by NYS on all NY waters also. I'm so lucky, they have my longevity and safety in mind 24/7. :rolleyes:

A waterproof flashlight with red and clear lens works on the McClellend-Kerr system. At least they did years ago when I was checked in Ft Smith. I bought one at Captan J's to keep from getting a fine in route to Dardenelle from Oklahoma.

That guy needed some happy pills.
