I just bought a off-shore mid-section(20") off of F&S. Naturally my motor is grey and the mid is black. I want to get it painted, therefore I need to take the bracket and swing-arm apart. It is a single piston and I want to disconnect the piston at the top. A clevis pin goes thru the end of the hydrolic arm. One end has a large grove and the other is just flat. It also looks like it may be pinned in the middle. I'm sure somebody knows exactly what i'm talking about and I could use advise from someone who knows how to do it.

Allso. is there any secrets that I should know when I take the braket apart where it hinges.

There is a cross pin in the middle. Look on the shock/ram end and you'll see it. One end is mushroomed to grab onto and pull it out. If the end is broke off (this happens alot) use a punch to push the pin all the way through. This pin is about 1 1/4" long and 3/16" diameter. It keeps the bg ram pin from coming out.
